Contemporary Eastern Interiors from the Orient by Alice Whately, published by Periplus in 2000.
From the minimalist Zen-like forms and clean surfaces to gilded interiors inspired by Chinese imperial splendor, the East's influence on Western architects and interior designers has never been more visible in magazines, department stores, and advertising. Contemporary Eastern explores the work of Western designers in sumptuous photographs, showing how the many faces of Eastern design have been successfully merged and adopted by the West. A stimulating visual sourcebook, Contemporary Eastern, shows how to Easternize your home and is for anyone with a passion for interior design.
A lovely addition to your coffee table or bookshelf, and a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves home and interior design.
