Firefly: Blue Sun Rising Vol. 1 SC (Firefly: Blue Sun Rising, 1)

About the Book

Firefly: Blue Sun Rising Vol. 1 by Greg Pak, with art by Dan McDaid, is a science-fiction graphic novel set in the universe of Joss Whedon's Firefly. The story follows Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds and the crew of the Serenity as they face a growing threat from the powerful Blue Sun Corporation.

Mal has a new partner: a law-enforcement robot created by Blue Sun. Unlike a human officer, the robot is concerned only with enforcing the law, regardless of motives, mercy, or consequences. As Blue Sun moves from operating behind the scenes toward openly taking control of the 'Verse, Mal finds himself facing a difficult choice. Following the corporation's rules may be the safest option, but protecting his people means bringing the Serenity crew back together for another dangerous mission.

The Blue Sun Rising Story

The volume launches the first major Firefly comic book event and brings Mal and the crew into a conflict that threatens more than their own freedom. The Blue Sun Corporation's expanding influence puts the crew in a position where they must confront an organization with enormous power and resources.

Written by Greg Pak, known for his work on titles including Darth Vader, and illustrated by Dan McDaid, the collection continues the Firefly story in comic-book form with space adventure, action, humour, and the familiar crew dynamics of the Serenity.

This volume collects Firefly: Blue Sun Rising #0 and Firefly #21–22, making it a useful starting point for readers following the Blue Sun Rising storyline.
