The Lost Stone of SkyCity by H.M. Waugh, published by Fremantle Press in 2019.
Sunaya doesn't believe in Ice-People. Not until they steal her friend Danam and her Father's precious gotal herd, that is. They want Danam to become a Cloud Dragon Protector for their Princess, but Sunaya doesn't trust any of these Ice-People, especially unpleasant Prince Praseep. And she needs those gotals back before her Father notices they're missing. As they cross the roof of the world to the mythical SkyCity of greenstone and gold, Sunaya discovers she has powers of her own. Was it actually her the Ice-People were searching for?
A great pick for readers who love getting lost in a good story.
